About the Face Symmetry Test
Facial symmetry is one of the most studied signals of perceived attractiveness. This test mirrors your face down the midline and measures how closely your left and right sides match across the eyes, brows, nose, mouth and jaw.
You will get a symmetry percentage and see which regions are the most balanced. Perfectly symmetrical faces are extremely rare — most people are slightly asymmetrical, and that is completely normal.
How symmetrical is my face, really?
To answer 'how symmetrical is my face,' the AI finds your facial midline and mirrors one side onto the other, then measures how far each landmark — eye corners, brow peaks, nostrils, mouth corners, jaw points — deviates from its mirror position. The result is a symmetry percentage. Here is the reassuring part: essentially nobody scores 100%. Human faces are naturally asymmetrical, and studies of even famous 'beautiful' faces show measurable left-right differences. A score in the high 80s to low 90s is both common and attractive, so do not be alarmed by a number below a perfect 100.
Why one side of your face looks different
Facial asymmetry comes from several harmless sources. Bone structure develops slightly unevenly for almost everyone. Chewing on one side, habitual expressions, and even the side you sleep on shape the muscles over time. Dominant-eye and smile patterns add to it. This is why a mirror selfie can look subtly 'off' compared to how you see yourself — you are seeing the un-flipped version. Unless the asymmetry is severe or sudden, it is a normal part of a real, expressive human face and is rarely something other people consciously notice.
Does facial symmetry actually equal beauty?
Symmetry is one of the most replicated findings in attractiveness research — more symmetrical faces tend to be rated as more attractive, possibly because symmetry signals developmental stability. But the effect is modest and far from the whole story. Averageness, proportion, skin quality, expression and grooming all contribute, and plenty of highly attractive faces have noticeable asymmetry. Treat your symmetry score as one interesting data point, not a beauty verdict. If you want the combined picture, pair this test with the beauty score calculator and golden ratio test.

Frequently asked questions
Is my face symmetrical?
Upload a straight-on photo and the AI mirrors your face to measure it. Almost everyone is slightly asymmetrical — a score in the high 80s to low 90s percent is normal and attractive.
How symmetrical is my face on average?
Most people score between 80% and 95%. Truly perfect symmetry is essentially non-existent, so a high-80s result is very common.
What is a good facial symmetry score?
Anything from the mid-80s upward is strong. Because perfect symmetry does not exist in real faces, chasing 100% is not realistic or necessary.
Why is one side of my face different from the other?
Mild asymmetry is normal and caused by bone structure, chewing habits, expressions and sleeping position. It is rarely noticeable to others.
Does facial symmetry mean you are attractive?
Symmetry correlates with perceived attractiveness in studies, but it is only one factor among many — proportion, averageness, skin and expression all matter too.
Is the face symmetry test free and private?
Yes. The symmetry analysis is free, needs no sign-up, and the photo is used only to compute your score, not stored or shared.
